Cobana Lounge Sofa for business

Cobana Lounge Sofa

Cobana Lounge Sofa is a modular outdoor sofa in Danish design with a calm expression and clean Scandinavian lines. Designed by Steffensen & Würtz and built to stay outside all year round – in private gardens, on terraces and in larger outdoor areas.

The series consists of a seat module, corner module, armrest and pouf, connected with integrated locking brackets. The light modules make it easy to change the setup when needs change – from a classic lounge setup to part of an outdoor lounge dining setting. This makes Cobana well suited to hotels, restaurants, cafés and communal areas, where the outdoor space needs to be used intensively season after season.

Cobana Lounge Sofa has received the German Design Award.

Hard-wearing in all weathers

Cobana Lounge Sofa is developed to stay outside all year round – even in outdoor spaces used intensively by guests, employees and residents. All materials are chosen so the sofa can handle sun, rain and moisture without losing shape, colour or function.

For you, this means fewer replacements, less need for storage and an outdoor space that is ready for use when the guests are.

The frame

Light aluminium that does not rust

The construction is built around a frame in powder-coated aluminium. Aluminium does not rust, and the powder coating provides a hard-wearing surface that is easy to keep clean – even in coastal environments and outdoor spaces with high humidity.

The light frame makes the modules easy to move when the terrace needs cleaning or the setup needs to change from one season or event to the next. The modules are connected with integrated locking brackets that engage when the modules are pushed together, so the setup stands together and stable in daily use.

Material: Powder-coated aluminium · Seat height: 40 cm

The textile

Kirra – olefin for year-round use

The sofa is upholstered in the olefin textile Kirra, developed for outdoor use all year round. Olefin is a synthetic fibre that does not develop mildew from moisture and in which organisms cannot live – so the textile cannot rot.

The textile is UV-resistant with a lightfastness of 7–8 on a scale of 1 to 8, so the colours last even when the sofa stands in direct sun all season. This gives a consistent look over time – even when several setups stand side by side in the same outdoor space.

Quick Dry Foam

Ready to use shortly after rain

The modules are filled with Quick Dry Foam – a foam developed for outdoor furniture that does not retain water but dries quickly again after a shower.

For hotels, restaurants and cafés, this means the cushions do not need to be carried inside every time it rains, and the outdoor space can quickly be used again. It saves staff time and makes it possible to use the outdoor areas for more months of the year.

Drying time depends on the weather: the sofa dries fastest in sun, warmth and wind, and a little more slowly in cool, cloudy weather.

Patio Storage Table

Patio Storage Table is a module in the Cobana series that connects directly to the sofa. The table works as both a side table and a coffee table and has built-in storage for cushions, blankets or drinks, for example.

The table is made of aluminium with black powder coating and a teak tabletop, and it has drainage holes so water can run out of the storage compartment. In projects, it provides a practical and tidy solution where all the loose items have a fixed place close to the sofa.

Cushions

Cobana Lounge Sofa comes with one cushion per seat module and can be supplemented with extra Cobana cushions as well as outdoor cushions in square, rectangular and round bolster shapes. The cushions are available in the same textiles as the sofa and in the striped Renesse textile, so you can create a coherent look or add pattern and contrast.

The cushions can be used to style and personalise the setup, add extra comfort or highlight a particular colour in a larger project.
