Can Cobana Lounge Sofa handle water?

Yes. The sofa is available in olefin textiles or Sunproof Bouclé. Olefin is a synthetic fibre that does not develop mould when exposed to moisture, while the acrylic used in the bouclé version is specifically developed for outdoor environments. The Quick Dry Foam inside the sofa ensures it dries quickly after rain.

We recommend bringing the loose Cobana cushions indoors during heavy rain.

Can Cobana Lounge Sofa stay outside all year round?

Most of our outdoor fabrics are made from olefin, a material particularly well suited for life outdoors. Olefin is naturally UV-resistant and offers high colour fastness, meaning the colours stay vibrant even when exposed to sunlight over time. At the same time, the fabric is water-repellent and quick-drying, making it suitable for repeated use in changing weather conditions.

Olefin is easy to maintain and simple to clean. Because the material does not absorb moisture, mould and mildew cannot develop in the fabric. This makes it ideal for outdoor furniture that needs to withstand daily use with minimal effort. That is why we have chosen olefin for our outdoor products. Powder-coated Aluminum

Powder-coated aluminium is one of the best materials for outdoor furniture, as it combines low weight with high strength and a surface designed to withstand outdoor use. Quick Dry Foam

Quick Dry Foam (also known as reticulated foam) is a specially developed foam designed for outdoor furniture. Its open, net-like cell structure allows water to drain quickly instead of being trapped inside the material. This means cushions and seats dry significantly faster after rain.

Because Quick Dry Foam does not retain moisture, it does not create conditions for mould or bacteria to grow. The material maintains its shape, comfort, and hygiene over time – even when used outdoors throughout the season.

This combination of fast drainage, quick drying, and long-lasting durability makes Quick Dry Foam an ideal choice for outdoor furniture. That’s why we use it in our outdoor range and offer a 5-year warranty*.

Boucle

Our bouclé fabric is made from high quality acrylic. The small loops in the yarn create a soft and lively texture with a look reminiscent of lambswool. This adds a warm and tactile character to the furniture while the material is developed for outdoor use.

Acrylic is naturally UV resistant and has a very high lightfastness rating of 8 on a scale from 1 to 8, which is the highest classification. This means the colours maintain their clarity even after prolonged exposure to sunlight. At the same time, the material is resistant to moisture and can withstand both chlorine and salt water, making it suitable for outdoor environments near pools, terraces and the sea.

The fabric is durable and tested for high resistance to everyday use while remaining easy to maintain and clean. The Champagne fabric is made from organically certified textile, ensuring the material is produced under controlled conditions.
