Chair no. One S1 is the clean and simple version of Chair no. One. A dining chair with a coherent design language, where comfort, materials and responsible choices are integrated from the very beginning. The moulded shell in recycled plastic is upholstered with Nordic, traceable leather from SPOOR, providing a comfortable and supportive seating experience for everyday use around the dining table.

S1 has a light and calm expression and can be customised with different leg options, making it easy to match the chair with both table and interior. For a more embracing seating experience, the chair is also available in the S2 version with a double shell.

Can Chair no. One be cleaned?

Chair no. One is upholstered with premium SPOOR leather, available in Terra and Luna. Each leather type requires a different cleaning method.

Terra

Use a soft cloth or sponge dipped in a recommended leather soap solution. Gently wipe the surface of the chair to remove dirt or stains, then polish the leather with a clean, dry cloth.

Luna

This is an open leather that naturally develops a beautiful patina over time. If needed, use a clean, well-wrung cloth to gently wipe away stains.

Note: Always test the cleaning method on a small, inconspicuous area before treating the visible leather surface.

Can Chair no. One be stacked?

Chair no. One S1 can be stacked, as the legs fit neatly around the shape of the shell. Chair no. One S1 with a swivel base and Chair no. One S2 cannot be stacked.

Does the leather develop a patina?

Yes. Over time, the leather naturally develops a patina through everyday use and touch, adding depth and character to the chair. This patina is also a mark of genuine SPOOR leather.

SPOOR Leather

SPOOR Collection is quality leather from Scan-Hide, Denmark's last tannery. The leather is 100% traceable from the cow to the finished product. This means that the leather used in the product you buy can be traced through the entire process from the farm to the factory to your dining chair.

SPOOR ensures complete transparency by only sourcing raw hides directly from slaughterhouses that buy the cattle directly from the farmers who raise the animals. Therefore, you can be sure where the leather comes from.

In addition, SPOOR guarantees that the leather comes from Northern European raw hides, as they only buy from Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Germany, and the Netherlands. Therefore, you are also guaranteed that the cattle have lived under some of the highest animal welfare standards in the world.

Polypropylen (PP)

Polypropylene (PP) is a strong and versatile design material that we have chosen for both the shells of our outdoor chairs and as the core of our indoor chairs. The material combines high strength with a degree of flexibility, allowing the furniture to withstand everyday use while maintaining shape and function.

For outdoor use, polypropylene is particularly well suited as it does not absorb moisture and is resistant to temperature changes and wear. This makes the chairs robust and stable, even when used outdoors over time. Indoors, polypropylene serves as a solid and form-stable core that provides strength and long-lasting durability while allowing for a light and precise design. For us, polypropylene is a considered material choice where function, durability and design go hand in hand. That is why we primarily use recycled polypropylene in our production. All our furniture comes with a 5-year warranty*.

Responsible design

Chair no. One is designed with a focus on responsible material choices and long-lasting quality. The chair’s shells are made from recycled plastic sourced from industrial waste, while the frame consists of 25% recycled steel. The upholstery is crafted in Nordic, traceable leather from SPOOR, tanned without the use of chrome to reduce environmental impact.

Chair no. One is produced in Europe. The leather is tanned at the last remaining tannery in Denmark before being upholstered in Europe. This ensures a considered production with clear provenance and short transport distances.

Chair no. One is upholstered in Nordic traceable leather from SPOOR, which is known for its high quality and traceability, meaning that the leather can be traced back to individual animals, farms and farmers.

The traceability and documentation behind it is our guarantee that the leather is responsibly sourced and produced all the way from farm to finished leather.

The Leather

Chair no. One is available in two different leather types, Terra and Luna, from Danish SPOOR. Choose the leather that best suits you and your personal style.

Luna leather is tanned without chrome and patinates beautifully and naturally over the years. The patination gives you a chair with a distinctive and unique look. With its velvety soft surface, Luna exudes quality.

Terra leather is tanned without the use of chrome and has a classic and timeless look that remains the same over time. This leather type has an extremely durable surface that is soft and has a natural grain that highlights and emphasizes the natural and unique nature of the leather. This leather type is resistant and easy to maintain.
