Favn is a lounge chair where soft, upholstered shapes rest on a simple base in solid wood. The back, armrests and seat flow naturally together in one continuous form, with everything superfluous cut away.

The legs in FSC®-certified oak (FSC® C190311) lift the chair lightly off the floor and give it an elegant, floating expression. The well-balanced proportions make the Favn chair inviting and comfortable, but unlike the traditional armchair, it takes up very little space in the room.

  • Generous comfort, compact look – a big seating experience that takes up less space than most classic lounge chairs
  • Softness you can see and feel – faux sherpa fur gives a tactile surface that signals comfort
  • Solid construction – legs in FSC-certified oak lift the upholstered form off the floor
  • Durable textile – over 50,000 rubs (Martindale), pilling rating 4 after 5,000 revolutions

Can the faux fur on Favn withstand daily use?

The faux sherpa fur is tested to over 50,000 rubs (Martindale) and has a pilling rating of 4 after 5,000 revolutions, so it withstands daily use without pilling or losing its appearance. Colour fastness is 4–5 for both dry and wet rubbing, so the colour stays stable, even with frequent contact.

Is Favn suitable for a small room?

Yes. Favn is designed to provide a generous seating experience without taking up much space – the proportions are put together so the chair looks smaller than many classic lounge chairs, while the comfort is the same.

Is the pouf only sold together with the chair?

No. Favn Pouf is also sold separately, in addition to being part of Favn Lounge Chair & Pouf.

How do I clean the fur?

Dust and loose particles are easiest to remove with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner on low suction with a soft nozzle. For stains, dab gently with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap, without rubbing hard into the fur. Avoid hot water, bleach or harsh cleaning agents, as they can wear the fibres and affect the structure of the fur. Let the fur air-dry, then brush it lightly so it lifts and keeps its full look.

Materials

Sherpa

Faux sherpa fur is a soft, textured upholstery fabric with a dense, full surface. Its distinctive texture gives the furniture a warm, tactile expression and makes the comfort visible before you even sit down. At the same time, it creates a pleasant surface that invites you to slow down and relax.

We chose faux sherpa fur because it combines softness with high durability. The fabric has been tested to over 50,000 Martindale and has a pilling rating of 4 after 5,000 cycles. This makes it suitable for everyday use, while helping it retain its full appearance without quickly pilling or looking worn.

Its colour fastness to rubbing is rated 4–5 in both dry and wet conditions. This helps the fabric retain its colour through regular contact and use. Dust and loose particles can be removed with a soft brush or a vacuum cleaner set to low suction, while minor stains can be gently blotted with a slightly damp cloth and mild soap.

Oak Wood & Oak Veneer

Oak is one of the most widely used and valued materials in Danish furniture design. Known for its strength, durability and distinctive grain patterns, oak is a natural choice for furniture made to withstand everyday use while maintaining a refined appearance over time. Its light structure and warm tone create a calm, honest expression that fits naturally into both classic and modern interiors.

Oak veneer shares the same visual qualities as solid oak while allowing for a more stable and resource-efficient construction. A considered choice where aesthetics, function and durability go hand in hand.

Lounge chair with generous comfort and a compact look

Favn Lounge Chair is created with a focus on generous comfort in a compact design. The soft, upholstered shapes are reduced to a few continuous volumes, where the back, armrests and seat flow naturally together as one whole. The result is a calm and harmonious expression without superfluous details.

The proportions are carefully balanced, so the chair invites you to relax without dominating the room. The enveloping comfort combined with the compact footprint makes Favn equally suited to smaller rooms and larger interiors.

Soft meets solid

Favn is built on the meeting between the sensory and the structural. The faux sherpa fur gives the chair its soft, tactile character and makes the comfort visible before you even sit down. At the same time, the solid oak legs lift the upholstered form off the floor and give the chair a firm, reliable base. It is the contrast between soft and solid that creates the balance.

More space than it looks

Favn may look compact, but it offers a surprisingly generous seating experience. The soft volumes and the high backrest provide plenty of room and support, even for tall people – without the chair taking up more space than it needs. It is precisely this contrast that makes Favn more than it seems at first glance.

Designer

Favn is designed by sackit’s head of design, Nicolai Rytter, and is based on the feeling of landing in something soft. The upholstered volumes are reduced to a few continuous shapes that give the chair its character, without unnecessary details. All transitions are continuous: the back, armrests and seat are experienced as one single form, not separate parts. The proportions carry the entire expression – the chair invites you to sink into it, yet takes up surprisingly little space.

Textile for everyday use

A lounge chair should be able to be used every day. Favn’s sherpa textile is tested to over 50,000 Martindale, which measures the fabric’s resistance to wear. The textile has also achieved a pilling rating of 4 after 5,000 revolutions, showing good resistance to the formation of bobbles. Colour fastness to both dry and wet rubbing is rated 4–5. These properties make the textile well suited to a chair that is used often.

Favn Pouf lets you put your feet up and find a more reclined position in the chair. The oval form is covered in the same sherpa textile and stands on legs in solid oak, so the chair and pouf belong together in both form and materials. The pouf can also be placed by the sofa as part of the interior. It is sold separately or together with the chair as Favn Lounge Chair & Pouf.
