How to choose bathroom lighting
Bathroom lighting must first and foremost handle moisture, so the IP rating is the most important thing to check. It tells you how well a lamp is protected against dust and water, and the higher the second digit, the better the lamp handles water. Good bathroom lighting often combines general light from the ceiling, light at the mirror and soft mood lighting by the bath.
Cordless lamp in the bathroom with no electrician needed
Ambience Lamp Intelligent+ and Light 155 are IP67 rated and therefore dust and waterproof. They run on a battery and can stand on the edge of the bath, on the windowsill or on a shelf without a cable. Choose a stainless steel base such as London, New York or Aalborg from the Ambience series. The Oslo base in oak should not stand where it gets wet.
Mood lighting by the bath
A couple of dimmed lamps by the bath give a soft light when the ceiling light is off. Both lamps last over 24 hours at 50% brightness and can be dimmed on the lamp itself or from your phone in the sackit app.
Light at the mirror
At the mirror, the light should reach your face from the front or the sides, so you are not standing in your own shadow. As a rule of thumb, light on both sides of the mirror gives the most even light for shaving or make-up.
Charge the lamp outside the bathroom
The lamp is waterproof, but chargers and cables are not. Ambience Lamp Intelligent+ is charged with the included cable or in the Lamp Charging Station, and Light 155 is charged via USB-C.
Ceiling or wall lights in the bathroom
If you want a bathroom wall light by the mirror or a new ceiling light, it must have the right IP rating for the zone it sits in. Fixed installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician. Our lamps in the Expo series are IP20 and are therefore not intended for the wet zones of the bathroom.

FAQ – Frequently asked questions
What IP rating should a bathroom light have?
It depends on how close it is to the shower and bath. The closer to water, the higher the IP rating required. If the lamp is to be fixed in place, ask a qualified electrician.
Can Ambience Lamp Intelligent+ stand in the shower?
It handles water because it is IP67 rated, but we recommend placing it out of the direct shower spray, for example on the edge of the bath or on a shelf.
How do I charge the lamp?
Outside the bathroom. Ambience Lamp Intelligent+ is charged with the included cable or in the Lamp Charging Station, and Light 155 via USB-C.
Can the Expo lamps be used in the bathroom?
Not in the wet zones. The Expo lamps are IP20 and made for dry rooms.
How long does the battery last?
Over 24 hours at 50% brightness for both Ambience Lamp Intelligent+ and Light 155. See more cordless table lamps.
