Yes. The fabric is made from 80% olefin and 20% recycled olefin polyester, making it resistant to moisture. The cushions are made with Quick Dry Foam, allowing them to dry quickly after rain.

The loose Kirra cushions should however be taken indoors during heavy rain.

Can the Kirra Lounge Sofa stay outdoors all year?

Yes. However, we recommend bringing the loose Kirra cushions indoors during rain.

Does the Kirra Lounge Sofa fade in the sun?

No. The sofa has a high level of lightfastness, ensuring the colours remain stable even with prolonged exposure to sunlight.

Most of our outdoor fabrics, including Kirra, Cobana and Reesse, are made from olefin, a material that is particularly well suited for outdoor living. Olefin is available in different qualities, and we have chosen one of the best on the market from Sunproof, ensuring that the material maintains both its color and strength over time, even with intensive use and exposure to sun and weather.

The material is developed to withstand the demands of outdoor use and is characterized by:

  • Color fastness of 7–8 on a scale of 8, meaning the material will not fade in the sun in practice
  • High UV resistance, preventing the material from degrading over time when exposed to sunlight
  • Resistance to mold, mildew, stains, and abrasion
  • Water-repellent and quick-drying properties, making it suitable for changing weather conditions
  • Also used in maritime environments, among the most demanding conditions, underlining its durability
