The cover is made from durable olefin fibre from Sunproof with a high lightfastness rating of 7–8. The material is water-repellent and developed specifically for outdoor use. It withstands both sun and moisture while the colours remain stable even in strong sunlight. The filling consists of lightweight, shape-retaining polyfibre that provides comfortable support and helps the cushion maintain its shape.

Although the material is designed for outdoor living, we recommend bringing the cushions indoors during heavy or prolonged rain. This extends their lifespan and helps keep them looking great season after season.

Can Outdoor Cushion withstand rain?

The cushion is designed for outdoor use and withstands both sun and moisture. A light summer shower is not a problem. However, we recommend bringing it indoors during heavy or prolonged rain. This extends its lifespan and helps keep the filling dry and shape-retaining.

How do I clean the cushion?

The removable cover can be cleaned with a damp cloth and mild soap. If necessary, it can be machine washed on a gentle cycle at a low temperature without spinning. For everyday care, however, we recommend simply using a damp cloth and mild soap to help preserve both colour and shape.

How does the fabric feel?

The textile is durable and lightly textured, just as you would expect from a quality outdoor fabric. It is not stiff, but neither is it as soft as a typical indoor cushion. It provides excellent support and feels pleasant to the touch.

Olefin is available in different qualities, and we have chosen one of the best on the market from Sunproof, ensuring that the material maintains both its color and strength over time, even with intensive use and exposure to sun and weather.

The material is developed to withstand the demands of outdoor use and is characterized by:

  • Color fastness of 7–8 on a scale of 8, meaning the material will not fade in the sun in practice
  • High UV resistance, preventing the material from degrading over time when exposed to sunlight
  • Resistance to mold, mildew, stains, and abrasion
  • Water-repellent and quick-drying properties, making it suitable for changing weather conditions
  • Also used in maritime environments, among the most demanding conditions, underlining its durability
