Meet the designer

Nicolai Rytter

Nicolai Rytter is a graduate of the Aarhus School of Architecture and works at the intersection of design and architecture. Rooted in the Scandinavian design tradition, with a preference for simplicity and honesty, he creates designs whose form is shaped by materials, construction, and function.

His approach is about reducing rather than adding. Every detail is carefully considered and contributes to the whole without demanding attention. The goal is design that feels simple and intuitive while retaining a distinct character.

About the designer

Nicolai Rytter’s creative background encompasses architecture, a past career as a tattoo artist, and a love of graffiti. This brings a personal perspective to his work with form and expression.

Throughout the design process, he refines each idea down to its essentials, paying attention to the small details that make a design feel natural to use.

The collaboration with sackit

Nicolai Rytter is behind a range of sackit furniture, lighting, and accessories, including the Favn lounge chair, the Arv coffee table, and Soft Sofa. With simple forms and purposeful details, his approach helps shape our collections.

The collaboration brings together his preference for simplicity and honesty with our desire to create designs that become a natural part of everyday life.
